H1N1 and the Uninsured

With so few people dying because of H1N1 and the fact that it appears that most normal strains of flu are equally as lethal, and spread much quicker, why is this rather unimpressive virus still in the news?

Could it be an attempt to push socialized medicine?  Perhaps.

“At top labs, scientists are optimistic they can make a vaccine that’s effective against the new virus. But in a country where one in seven people lack medical insurance, doctors worry that some individuals won’t get needed protection because of cost.”

Yes, the corporations are concerned that one in seven (if we accept that number as truth) people will miss out on a chance to give them money.  Remember, so far this virus hasn’t moved quickly, nor is it very lethal.

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and Rep. Lois Capps, D-Calif., have introduced legislation to pay for temporary medical treatment for uninsured people during a public health emergency. It could be a natural disaster such as an earthquake or hurricane, a bioterror attack, or a medical emergency such as a flu pandemic. “We can’t afford to have barriers that keep people from getting care when an epidemic is sweeping the community,” Capps said. Separately, Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, has proposed to offer all individuals a free flu shot each year.

Strangely, with a budget busting at the seams, a down economy, and an unstable world, Congress seems to find new ways to spend money we do not have on projects the Constitution does not permit.   A ‘free’ (as if no one pays for it) flu shot every year?   Outstanding for the corporations.   No need to advertise, no need to do anything but lobby government.   Remember President (then candidate) Obama talking about how tired he was of lobbies and PACs?   Good to see Congress feels this way.

The reason this is all being able to be done is because the world is fearing a rather plain virus as if it were a sweeping plague.   Remember: “Rule one: Never allow a crisis to go to waste,” Mr. Emanuel said in an interview on Sunday. “They are opportunities to do big things.”

Obama’s ‘Spread the Wealth’ comment, and Emanuel’s comment show their plan…. they lay it before us to see, and we the people fall for it.  They tell us we’re entitled to it, and so many Americans have no sense of self-worth, or understanding of cause and effect, so many Americans swallow it hook, line, and sinker and actually think they are indeed entitled to so many things.  Wake up America, do something for yourselves… and keep doing it.

A New Look at an Old Essay

The times reports that, “EcoAmerica has been conducting research for the last several years to find new ways to frame environmental issues and so build public support for climate change legislation and other initiatives. The term turns people off, fostering images of shaggy-haired liberals, economic sacrifice and complex scientific disputes, according to extensive polling and focus group sessions conducted by ecoAmerica, a nonprofit environmental marketing and messaging firm in Washington. Instead of grim warnings about global warming, the firm advises, talk about “our deteriorating atmosphere.” Drop discussions of carbon dioxide and bring up “moving away from the dirty fuels of the past.” Don’t confuse people with cap and trade; use terms like “cap and cash back” or “pollution reduction refund.””

There is an important essay written by Eric Blair (George Orwell), called Politics and the English Language (May 1945) where he states, “In our time, political speech and writing are largely the defence of the indefensible. Things like the continuance of British rule in India, the Russian purges and deportations, the dropping of the atom bombs on Japan, can indeed be defended, but only by arguments which are too brutal for most people to face, and which do not square with the professed aims of the political parties. Thus political language has to consist largely of euphemism, question-begging and sheer cloudy vagueness.””

So, since the idea of Global Warming has been effectively riddled with holes, we already got to see it morph into “Climate Change” so that when any unusual weather event happened (including a cold snap, blizzard, etc.) could be blamed on humanity, and now we are seeing it changing into other terms as well.   This is also proof that this effort is not a grass-roots one, but a centrally controlled effort run by a group of people who are telling others how to phrase their messages in order to square with the aims of the political movement called ‘environmental activism’.

If something is a truth, one does not need to re-package that something.  It stands on its own for all to see and observe and to take from it what one may.   Truths and half-truths along  with lies need to be re-packaged, re-markets, and changed in order to seem like a novel or new idea so that the deception can be kept in view of everyone’s mind’s eye.  The obvious deception involved with the modern environmental activist can be seen with the talking points conveyed:  “Moving away from the dirty fuels of the past” is an obvious lie.   Oil is still the most used fuel, dirty or not.  It is not something int he past but very much used in the present and for the foreseeable future – to say otherwise is either mis, or uninformed, or…  deceptive.

By keeping the definitions and words as fluid as possible they are able to change what needs to be changed in order to keep their agenda moving.  They are not burdened with consistency, they need not be true or even accurate, they will just invent new terms and act like a brand new day is here.   Deception.

Are we the people really so stupid that we would fall for this deception?   Time will tell.  While waiting for time to tell us, I’d suggest reading Orwell’s essay — it is delightful.

The EPA to Regulate our Lives in the Name of Protecting the Weather

It’s reported that the EPA has declared, that greenhouse gases linked to climate change “endanger public health and welfare,”“.   Because of this bold statement the EPA is set to regulate CO2 emissions (yes, the stuff we and all animals exhale).
The EPA’s report is foolish as quoted, “[t]he agency said in its finding that “in both magnitude and probability, climate change is an enormous problem”” .   Probability?   Does that sentence even make sense?  It is something to note that climate change is still only a probable happening — even to those who swear by it, it is not definate, just probable.   Of course, how does one measure the magnitude of something which is only probable?   The wording is as shaky as the premise itself since Denver is expecting snowfall of up to two feet this weekend, and even Las Vegas is getting snow.  A funny thing to quote from there as well is that, “[t]he National Weather Service said Wednesday’s high was 59 degrees, which fell short of the record low high of 56 degrees set in 1998.”

Wow, two of the coldest days EVER this late in April happening only 11 years apart…  both during this period of ‘global warming’??!?!?!   How is this possible?   We know how:  Global Warming needed to be changed to ‘Climate Change’ so that any notable weather could be made to fit the agenda because global warming as a whole isn’t so dangerous and isn’t man-made.

Now that we have President Obama’s Administration to limit our activities and control more industries that he already is with the bail out money, he’ll get right on with more control with scare tactics related to freezing or dying of heat exhaustion.

Keep on voting for these types and keep watching the control increase.
